We plan to have a minimum of 3 rounds of qualifying. A staggered start system will be used for qualifying heats. Final positions are to be determined by adding a driver’s best two points together according to the NZRCA Rules.

We plan to have three Rounds of finals. Final heats will be run using a grid start and heads up start. Your grid position will be the same for all final heats as the result of your qualifying position. Your two best final results based on placings and points will determine your overall result. In the event of a tie, your qualifying results will be used to break the tie.

It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that their cars conform to the NZRCA rules as at the time of the race meeting. Rules can be downloaded by clicking here.

Specific Rules
  • Races will be 5 minutes in duration plus maximum of 50 seconds complete your last lap.
  • There will be a maximum of 2 minutes between races, unless delayed by the Race Director.
  • In the case of rain, there will be no indoor venue available and the meeting procedure will be governed by the NZRCA rules.
  • Stock classes – competitors must provide their own Stock 17.5T Spec ROAR or IFMAR approved motor. They will have to use ‘Stock Spec’ or ESC running in ‘Blinky’ mode. Batteries will be spot tested immediately before cars go on track to ensure they are not above 8.4v.

Prizegiving will be held at the end of Sundays racing.

Lap Timing

CMR will be using LiveTime RC software and an AMB RC4 decoder (Clone transponders may not work). Competitors are to supply their own transponders and are responsible for ensuring the details are supplied correctly and that their transponder is in working condition. We will not be responsible for any issues with driver’s personal transponders.

Competitors are required to marshal the race immediately following their own race, unless physically disabled or they are in back-to-back races. In these cases it is the competitor’s responsibility to appoint a substitute marshal. Failure to marshal or have a substitute marshal will result in your best race result being dropped.

Were competitors are using fixed frequency transmitters, the competitors must have at least two legal frequencies for each car entered. In the event of a crystal clash in the final, the higher placed competitor after qualifying will have preference for available frequencies.

Track Maintenance

Depending on weather and track condition, we may require to water the track or carry out track maintenance before after or between rounds. The track will also be closed at the conclusion of each day for maintenance.

We encourage you to bring your own chairs, tables and/or shelter to the event. If you are from out of town please contact us and we will do the very best to arrange something for you. There is mains power (limited to RC use only) onsite for racers to use. There are also toilets onsite for your convenience. We also request that you please take any rubbish with you when you leave the track.

We do not have an alternative rain venue. If the weather prevents any rounds from being run or completed, we will run according to the NZRCA rules to determine final positions.
